01Microtox
Superficial micro-droplets across the face, for pore appearance, oiliness, superficial fine lines and overall skin texture, with movement preserved.
SKIN QUALITY · GLASS SKIN FINISH
FROM £220
Very small amounts of diluted toxin placed into the skin itself rather than into the muscle — for pore appearance, oiliness, fine lines and texture, with your expression left alone.

WHAT MICROTOX IS
Microtox — also called mesotox or dermatox — is a technique in which very small, diluted quantities of botulinum toxin are placed superficially into the dermis rather than deep into the facial muscles. It is the same medicine used differently, and it is used for a different purpose.
Traditional anti-wrinkle injections are placed into targeted muscles to reduce movement and soften expression lines. Microtox is placed into the skin itself, so the aim becomes the appearance of that skin — its texture, its finish, its clarity — while the face continues to move as it always has.
THE GLASS SKIN IDEA
Smooth, refined, dewy-looking skin with a more polished finish — skin that reflects light evenly rather than emphasising texture.
That is the finish this technique is designed to support. Skin texture may improve, pore appearance may reduce, oil production may decrease and the complexion may look smoother and more refined. Facial expression is generally preserved throughout.
SUBTLE BY DESIGN
The changes are refinements rather than transformations. Most people notice the difference in their skin before anyone notices it in their face.
A REFINEMENT TREATMENT
It is used to polish what is already there — the surface, the finish, the way light sits on the skin — not to restructure the face.
MAINTENANCE IS USUAL
The effect is temporary. Results are typically maintained with repeat treatment at an interval agreed with your clinician.
WHY CHOOSE MICROTOX?
Microtox tends to appeal to people who want to focus on overall skin quality rather than conventional wrinkle-relaxing injections. It is a good option for anyone wanting a smoother, more polished, more refined complexion while still looking natural and like themselves.
01
For people whose concern is the surface of their skin rather than the depth of a fold — pores, shine, texture and the way their complexion looks in daylight.
02
Because the aim is refinement rather than reduced movement, the face continues to express itself. The result is designed to look like better skin, not like treatment.
03
Where a conventional anti-wrinkle treatment would be too much for the concern, a superficial approach may be the more proportionate choice.
HOW IT DIFFERS FROM ANTI-WRINKLE TREATMENT
The medicine is related; the technique, the depth and the intention are not. Understanding which one is being recommended — and why — matters more than the name on the price list.
CONVENTIONAL ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS
MICROTOX
The aim is not to freeze the face. Microtox is chosen when the concern is the quality of the skin rather than the strength of the muscle — and where a muscle treatment is genuinely the better answer, we will say so at your consultation rather than treat the skin instead.
WHAT IT CAN HELP WITH
Microtox may be useful where the concern is the finish of the skin rather than a single deep line. It is assessed against your skin on the day — not recommended from a list.
Improvement, where it happens, tends to be gradual and modest: the skin looks clearer, calmer and more even rather than dramatically different.
WHAT MICROTOX CANNOT DO
Microtox is not designed to treat everything, and it is not a substitute for treatments that work at a different depth or in a different way.
If any of the below is your actual concern, the honest recommendation is a different treatment — and that will be explained to you rather than worked around.
NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR
TREATMENT AREAS
The area treated depends on what your skin is doing and where. Each is assessed in person; the list below shows where the technique may be used, not a menu to choose from.
Fine horizontal surface lines and shine, with movement kept.
Pore appearance, texture and oiliness across the mid-face.
Where appropriate, for visible pores and shine across the nose and inner cheeks.
Finely textured or crepey skin along the jaw and around the mouth.
Around the crow’s feet region where suitable, for superficial lines and skin quality.
Where appropriate, for crepey texture and horizontal surface lines.
THE EYE AREA
Around the eyes, very small amounts can be used to refine the skin where fine, superficial lines and crepiness have started to show, and where the skin looks thinner or less even in texture. It is delicate work: the skin is thin, the muscle sits close to the surface, and suitability depends on your anatomy as much as on the lines themselves. Some eyes are better served by a different approach entirely, and that is decided at consultation rather than assumed.
BEFORE + AFTER
Eye area, cheek and pore appearance, and the neck — the three areas where a superficial approach is most often considered.

TREATMENT OPTIONS
Two ways to have it, depending on how far the concern extends. Which one suits you is decided at your consultation, after your skin has been assessed.
01Superficial micro-droplets across the face, for pore appearance, oiliness, superficial fine lines and overall skin texture, with movement preserved.
02The full-face treatment extended down the neck, where crepiness and horizontal surface lines are also being addressed.
Both prices are for a single treatment. Every treatment at Beyond Skin begins with a consultation, and suitability is confirmed there before anything is booked.
A short appointment, prepared properly — the assessment takes longer than the treatment.

AFTERWARDS
Tiny raised bumps at each injection point are expected for a few hours. They settle on their own and are not a sign that anything has gone wrong.

IMMEDIATELY AFTER
Mild redness, tiny bumps at each injection point, and occasionally a small bruise.
DAYS 1–3
Little visible change at first. The bumps settle within hours; any redness or bruising fades over the next day or two.
DAYS 3–7
Early changes may begin to show — the skin can feel and look slightly tighter or more even.
WEEKS 2–3
This is where the effect is usually clearest: skin may appear smoother, more refined and less oily, with pore appearance reduced.
MAINTENANCE
Results are temporary. Repeat treatment is usually needed to maintain the effect, at an interval agreed with your clinician.
Superficial toxin work is typically shorter-lived than a standard anti-wrinkle treatment. Your clinician will discuss the interval that suits your skin rather than promise a fixed duration.
PORE APPEARANCE
Pores may look less pronounced where the skin’s surface has been refined.
OIL & SHINE
Excess oil and shine through the day may be reduced, particularly across the T-zone.
SMOOTHER TEXTURE
Skin texture may look smoother and more even to the eye and to the touch.
FINE LINES
Very fine, superficial lines may soften, rather than deeper established folds.
FACIAL SWEATING
Sweating may be reduced in the treated area where this is a concern.
REFRESHED COMPLEXION
A fresher, more refined complexion — the glass-skin finish this is chosen for.
STILL LOOKING LIKE YOU
Results are designed to look natural, with facial movement largely preserved.
THE NECK TOO
Where appropriate, the neck may be treated for crepey texture and surface lines.
These are the considerations that require assessment. Suitability is always confirmed at consultation against your medical history and the Beyond Skin clinical protocol.
Your suitability and individual risk profile will be discussed during consultation before treatment.
MAY BE SUITABLE FOR
MAY NOT BE SUITABLE IF
Microtox is a refinement treatment, not a replacement for anti-wrinkle injections, fillers or skin-resurfacing work. If what you actually want is one of those, we will tell you.
AFTERCARE
The first 24 hours matter more than the rest of the week. These instructions are simple and are given to you in writing on the day.
If anything looks or feels unusual — spreading redness, significant swelling, or anything that concerns you — contact the clinic rather than waiting it out.

It is used for skin quality: pore appearance, oiliness, superficial fine lines and texture, with facial expression generally preserved.
Conventional anti-wrinkle treatment is placed into specific facial muscles to reduce movement and soften dynamic lines such as forehead lines, frown lines and crow’s feet. Microtox is placed superficially in the skin as diluted micro-droplets, and focuses on texture, pores, oiliness, superficial fine lines, facial sweating and overall refinement. The aim is not to freeze the face.
Smooth, refined, dewy-looking skin with a more polished finish — skin that reflects light evenly rather than emphasising pores and texture. It is a description of the finish the treatment is designed to support, not a promise of a particular result.
It is deliberately subtle. This is a refinement treatment rather than a transformation, and most people notice their skin looks fresher and more even rather than noticing that anything has been done.
Little change is usually visible in the first few days. Early changes may begin between days three and seven, and the effect is typically clearest at two to three weeks. Results are temporary and maintenance treatment is usually required; your clinician will discuss a realistic interval for your skin.
Minimal. Tiny bumps at the injection points and mild redness settle within hours, and occasional bruising fades over a few days. Most people return to normal activity the same day, avoiding heat, exercise and makeup for the periods set out in your aftercare.
Where clinically appropriate, yes. Around the eyes it is used for fine superficial lines and skin quality, with suitability depending on your anatomy as much as the lines themselves. The neck can be treated for crepey texture and horizontal surface lines — that is what the Full Face & Neck option is for.
Microtox is £220 and Full Face & Neck Microtox is £250, for a single treatment. Every treatment at Beyond Skin begins with a consultation, where the plan and suitability are confirmed before anything is booked.
