Any tenderness or bruising usually settles within a few days. Around the eye, mild puffiness can take slightly longer.

DURING RECOVERY

ONGOING

Downtime is typically minimal.

Benefits of EZ Gel

SKIN QUALITY

Supports the skin’s own repair environment for gradual improvement in quality.

SOFT-TISSUE SUPPORT

Used where a little support is wanted, in a considered way rather than as volume.

THE EYE AREA

Used around the tear trough where the assessment supports it, for patients who would rather not have traditional dermal filler.

CREPEY, THIN-LOOKING SKIN

May support the look of fine, crepey skin — the change the eye area is most prone to.

YOUR OWN BIOLOGY

Prepared from your own blood, so there is no manufactured gel to react to.

GRADUAL BY DESIGN

Works with your skin rather than replacing it.

Risks & Considerations

These are discussed openly at your consultation so that you can give informed consent.

Your suitability and individual risk profile will be discussed during consultation before treatment.

THE EYE AREA

Autologous Eye Protocol

The skin around the eye is the thinnest on the face, and it sits over very little underlying tissue. That is why it is usually the first area to show change, and why it is the area most often treated badly.

The Autologous Eye Protocol is how we plan treatment there: not one product for one line, but a considered combination of approaches chosen for your skin, sequenced over time and reviewed as it goes.

BEFORE (TOP) · AFTER (BOTTOM)

Why more than one modality

The eye area changes in more than one way at once. Skin quality thins and creases; the tissue beneath it loses support; surface texture and pigment change too. A single approach tends to address one of those and leave the others visible — which is why the area so often looks under-treated, or over-treated in the wrong places.

Working in layers means each part of the change is addressed by the approach suited to it: support where support is needed, skin quality where the skin itself is the issue, and surface where texture and tone are. Because the plan is built in sequence, each stage can be reviewed before the next is added.

Individualised, after consultation

Not everyone needs every part of the protocol — and some people need none of it. Which modalities are used, in what order and at what intervals, is decided at your consultation, after the area has been assessed properly.

Where treatment is not appropriate, we will say so. Where it is, you will know what is being proposed, why, and what a realistic outcome looks like before you decide.

QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked

EZ Gel is a gel prepared from a small sample of your own blood and used to support the skin’s structure and quality. It is sometimes called plasma biofiller or autologous biofiller. At Beyond Skin UK it is prepared and placed in clinic, following a consultation.

Dermal filler is a manufactured gel. EZ Gel is autologous — made from your own blood — so there is no foreign product involved. The two are used for different purposes: filler is chosen where support, contour or proportion need restoring, and EZ Gel where the skin itself and its quality are the priority.

Where the assessment supports it, yes. The eye area is treated conservatively and is planned as part of a wider approach rather than in isolation — see the Autologous Eye Protocol above.

The Tyndall effect is the bluish tinge that can sometimes be seen when a clear hyaluronic acid gel is placed very superficially under thin skin, such as the tear trough. It is one of the reasons some patients are cautious about traditional tear-trough filler. Because EZ Gel is prepared from your own blood and is not a clear gel of that kind, it is a different situation — and the placement, which is what matters most in this area, is planned accordingly.

It may be used to support the look of fine, crepey skin, which the eye area is especially prone to. What it can realistically achieve varies between individuals, and is discussed at your consultation rather than promised beforehand.

EZ Gel is priced at consultation, because the plan — which areas, how many sessions, and whether it is combined with anything else — is decided after your assessment. The consultation itself is £80.

Pregnancy or breastfeeding, an active skin infection in the area, blood or clotting disorders, certain medications, recent significant sun exposure and a history of problematic scarring all need to be assessed first. They do not automatically rule you out — suitability is confirmed at consultation.
